Passivation is a finish that provides a level of corrosion resistance for Stainless Steels
Using either Nitric Acid or Citric Acid solutions. Chemical Passivation helps facilitate the spontaneous passivation by allowing oxygen uniform access to the surface to form a corrosion resistant oxide film.
All Parts to be Passivated are run through a Pre-Treat process that removes all Dirt, Oil, Greases, and other Impurities. All Weld areas are cleaned for heat discoloration and scale.
ELECTOPOLISHING
Electropolishing of Stainless Steels per ASTM B 912
Electropolishing is a finish that provides a superior form of Passivation along with a very shiny Chrome finish. Electropolishing helps facilitate the spontaneous Passivation by allowing oxygen uniform access to the surface to form a corrosion resistant oxide film. Electropolishing causes a smoothing of the surface, which improves corrosion resistance.
All Parts to be Electropolished are run through a Pre-Treat process that removes all Dirt, Oil, Greases, and other Impurities. All Weld areas are cleaned for heat discoloration and scale.
